Saudi South Africa Trade Relations

Relations between the two countries were formalised during a visit by the late former president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela to Saudi Arabia in November of 1994. The Saudi Arabian and South African governments have been eager to develop a strategic relationship to enhance the business opportunities between the two countries.

Developing these trade and industrial opportunities utilising the private sector have long been in discussion. The trade delegations in both countries, now have increased awareness of their business communities.

Saudi Arabia and South Africa have the biggest economies in their respective regions. Both their economies are complimentary; sharing a sound political relationship. Both countries have also shown major economic growth.
